Hobba time
10/04/2007
The South Dragons' basketball development camps hit town this week with Brent Hobba and a host of junior hoops stars out in force across the state.
One hundred budding basketballers mixed it with past and present legends of the game at Bulleen, honing their skills under the expert eyes of Michele Timms, Kate Cohen, Jacob Holmes, Hobba, Adam Quick and South Dragons assistant coach Guy Molloy.
Over two days the young Dragons fans took part in a series of skills exercises and fitness drills designed to boost their on-court performance and enhance their understanding of the game.
From shooting to screening, dribbling to defence, the happy Dragons campers covered it all. After sharpening their skills and participating in a fun fitness session, the kids looked set to take on the NBL!
Afternoon action saw the junior hoops fans hit the court for simulated games, facing off against one another to put their newfound skills into practice.
The weary crew left camp on Tuesday entirely exhausted by their efforts but just as eager to return to the court to show off their skills.
On Wednesday the South Dragons travelled east to Maffra-Heyfield to put the country locals through their paces. When the regional camp wrapped up late on Thursday afternoon, it left a legion of future Dragons stars in its wake.
Next week sees the action roll into Waverley Basketball Stadium for the elite shooting camp then on to Nunawading for two days of basketball development with Brent Hobba, Jacob Holmes, Matt Shanahan and Guy Molloy.
With limited places still available in both camps, it’s time to haul the kids off the couch and sign them up for some school holiday fun - click here to register today!
