Chris Payne, playing his 100th SEABL game for the Club Kilsyth Cobras, led the scoring with 14 points but despite being in the match for all four quarters the Cobras were not able to register a win.

Payne continued his recent good form after being promoted to the starting line-up, and was supported by Chris Cameron (14 pts, 7 rbds), Jon Croft (13pts, 7 rbds) and Adam Jackson (12 pts).

Both teams looked tired after playing the night before and shot at under 35% from the field. A slow first half gave the Spectres the lead at the major break but the Cobra,s playing with the same desire as they did against Knox, were able to draw back the 11-point deficit to be equal with five minutes to go.

The Spectres out-rebounded the Cobras by seven and recorded 12 more assists but were outplayed in almost ever other statistical category. In a fast-paced up-and-down style game, the Cobras looked after the ball well to put up 93 shots and go to the foul line another 19 times, but shot at just 50% from the line to allow Nunawading to stay in the contest and ultimately record the victory.

The Cobras now sit fifth on the South Conference ladder, just one game behind North West Tassie with a 3-8 record. With positive signs shown throughout this weekend's games the Cobras will look to capitalise next Saturday night against the Canberra Gunners and move up to fourth on the ladder.
