Both teams have had disappointing seasons to date, and will look to this game to rectify their season. Pioneers import Chris Lewis (13.4ppg, 6.8rpg) has not been the solid scoring threat the team needs to be successful. Mt Gambier second import Ryan Blankson is having a great season and is consistently producing great numbers, but is receiving limited support from his teammates. A bigger offensive game from Lewis, Jeffree and Shepherd is required for the Pioneers to record the victory.

AIS vs Hobart
Australian Emus have an intense four day camp this week and the AIS team will be determined at the conclusion of camp, after injuries and fatigue are assessed. AIS youngsters Daniel Johnson and Cameron Gliddon performed remarkably last weekend, and will look to be an
offensive threat once again this weekend.

Geelong vs Albury/Wodonga
On paper a Supercats victory is highly likely, but never underestimate the Bandits. Geelong currently hold a seven-game winning streak against Albury/Wodonga including a 120-110 victory in Round 7, and the Bandits have not scored a win at the Arena since 2002. Supercats imports Myers (17.7ppg, 9.7rpg) and Brown (17.9ppg, 13.1rpg) are having sensational seasons and will trouble the Bandits' front court.

Southern Districts vs NW Tasmania
First time meeting between the two clubs, and a victory is vital for the Thunder as two losses on the road this week will see them drop out of the South top four. Spartans return home after their long winning streak was broken by Bendigo on the road. With Vanderjagt still on the sidelines with a knee injury, experienced forward Andrew Latimer will need to showcase his skills once again.

Ballarat vs Frankston
After a surprising home loss to Nunawading last round, Blues coach Bill Runchey will be eager for an improved performance this week. Blues Strzebonski and Harms are slowly starting to gel in the back court, but the team still rely on MVP favourite David Gruber (25.5ppg, 12.8rpg, 2.7bpg)
to produce at the offensive end. If Ballarat can contain Gruber the chances of victory will be increased significantly, as Gruber is a major factor for Frankston. Grant Dennis (Frankston) plays his 250th SEABL Game.

Kilsyth vs Nunawading
Nunawading guard Shane McDonald (21.1ppg, 5.3rpg, 7.3apg) is having a career best season, and NBL coaches should be watching his progress with interest. A lot has been spoken of Cobras Jonathon Lee inability to defend quality players, and this week is the time for him to prove his doubters wrong, as it will be his priority to contain the impressive talents of McDonald.

Canberra vs Hobart
Hobart has not secured a victory against Canberra at home since September 1990, and has lost on their past seven trips to the nation's capital. This is a major concern for Chargers coach Mark Chivers, but he has a quality team this season and will be determined to end the terrible losing streak. Mark Nash (18.2ppg, 10.5rpg) had a return to form against Knox last week and his battle in the paint with new NBL recruit Anthony Petrie will be a quality tussle.

Bendigo vs NW Tasmania
Fatigue will play a factor in this game as the Thunder will be returning after a tough match in Brisbane the night before. Both teams have many offensive options, but the back court battle between sharp shooters Mick Hill (28.3ppg) and Thunder import Troy deVries (29.2ppg) is sure to entertain the large Bendigo crowd.

Nunawading vs Geelong
Geelong have a good record against Nunawading, but the Spectres are in great form at the moment and coach Sedale Threat will be keen to be the first team to defeat Geelong
this year. Nunawading have the two best rebounders in the league with Eversteyn (14.1rpg) and Biwer (13.6rpg) which could trouble the Supercats front court. Supercats recorded an easy 103-84 victory in Round 9 and will be keen for another victory to keep their undefeated status intact.

Frankston vs Albury/Wodonga
Frankston hold an 11-1 head to head record at home against Albury/Wodonga and have won their past five contests. Since the 2001 Grand Final, the rivalry between these two teams has been intense with a no-holds barred approach taken at each game. Bandits Nick Payne is having another stellar season and is one player Frankston will need to concentrate on at the defensive end.
