The game was a very fast, physical encounter with a lot of fouls called. The margin was less than 10 points for the majority of the game with the Thunder getting a break late in the fourth due to some undisciplined play by the Miners.

A tough encounter the night before had the Spartans looking a little jaded, but with the inclusion of Sam MacKinnon into the line-up their game play should have improved. But with Spartans shooting only 39% to the Gunners 55% and free throws keeping them in the contest, the game was a close one. A close game ensued down the stretch with the Gunners pullingahead in the last couple of minutes to take a hard-fought 101-92 win.

In a fast-paced game neither team could establish a lead of more than five points and scores were level at quarter time. The second quarter was very competitive but it was the Spectres that held a narrow seven-point lead going into halftime. In a scrappy quarter that saw both teams make poor offensive decisions the Braves were unable to make inroads, trailing by
eight going into the final quarter. The Spectres started that last quarter hitting four three-point shots that broke the game open and Bendigo was unable to recover the deficit. The Spectres were convincing nine-point winners.

Closely contested game in the first quarter with the Cobras taking the early lead, but a technical foul by the Cobras bench let the Spartans back into the game. The Cobras took the early lead by seven in the second and extended it out to 13 by the end of the half. The Cobras dominated the third quarter taking the lead out to 16 midway through. The Spartans came back to finish out the quarter down by 10, 67-57. The Cobras again pushed out the lead early in the fourth, before a Spartans mini-comeback to be down by just nine before a few quick baskets by the Cobras pushed the game out by 17.

The first quarter was played at a fast pace with fast break transition a feature for both teams and a low foul count. Bendigo edged out a narrow one-point lead before the game settled down with both teams fighting to establish their authority. The Braves extended their lead to four points ahead of another tight quarter, with the Spectres turning their four-point deficit into a five-point lead at the third quarter break. The Spectres' lead was as much as seven during a hotly contested final quarter in which the Braves continued to come back time and again.
