Knox vs Canberra
After four consecutive losses, a victory is vital for the Raiders’ back-to-back Championship aspirations. Coach Damian Cotter has a full squad available with the return of Simpson and Bryant, but they are struggling to make an impact since returning to the rotation. Gunners forward Anthony Petrie did not play on the weekend due to an ankle injury, and coach Frank Arsego will be hoping to have him on the floor this week to battle in the paint with Raiders import John Bryant.

Mt Gambier vs Albury/Wodonga
Both teams sit at the bottom end of their respective conference ladders, and needing a victory to stay in contention of a finals berth. Mt Gambier had a bye last weekend and will go into the contest fresh and with the support of their home crowd. Albury/Wodonga don’t have a good record at the Icehouse, and Pioneers coach Jason Sedlock will be keen to exploit this issue.

Bendigo vs AIS
Bendigo has been successful against the AIS at the Schweppes Centre since August 1990. In fact the Braves have recorded 10 consecutive victories and hold a 10-1 advantage. The last time AIS recorded a victory in Bendigo, was June 1985 and coach Marty Clarke was a member of this team, but as a player.

NW Tasmania vs Hobart
Despite a poor 37% win/loss record, NW Tasmania hold the last finals position in the South at the moment, but are under pressure from teams below them. Another victory this weekend against the higher-placed Hobart is vital to the Thunder, who have struggled against Hobart at home in
recent games. The Chargers currently hold a four-game win streak against their Tassie rivals, including a 129-112 victory on Easter Monday this season.

Ballarat vs Canberra
A promising statistic for rookie coach Matt Shanahan this week is that Ballarat hold an 11-1 head-to-head record at the Minerdome against Canberra. Currently on a six-game losing streak, a victory is an absolute must for the Miners this week. Despite holding a disappointing 2-12 record, the Miners are not out of finals contention, however their late season resurgence needs to start this weekend.

Frankston vs AIS
AIS coach Marty Clarke has been able to put his strongest team together for the first time this year, with his full squad free of injuries and other commitments. This should be a concern for Frankston coach Bill Runchey, as they have slipped to fifth position behind the AIS. Frankston had a disappointing 0-2 weekend in Round 12 and will be looking to erase the demons with a victory over the youngsters. AIS defeated Frankston 98-89 in Round 9 and will be looking for
another win to gain the important head to head advantage should they be tied at season's end.

Southern Districts vs Nunawading
Australian Boomer Sam Mackinnon will play his first game in Spartans colours at Carina Stadium this weekend, and with a full week of training under his belt with the team should have a major impact in the game. His likely task will be to contain SEABL legend David Biwer, who has been in scintillating form of present, with two Player of the Week awards in the past four weeks. NBL coaches should also take keen interest in the duel in the back court between Spartans Adam Gibson (21.7ppg, 4.5rpg, 4.2apg) and Spectres promising youngster Shane McDonald (20.1ppg,
4.9rpg, 6.7apg). Every time McDonald has scored 26+ points the Spectres have been successful; a defensive assignment Gibson is capable of achieving.

Geelong vs Mt Gambier
Supercats are currently 14-0 for the season and have won each game by an average 20.5pts and have been in control of each game. Import Shawn Myers is having a great season and providing quality numbers off the bench, which no other bench player in the league can match. He will again be the major factor for the Supercats in what coach Mark Leader will be hoping will be win number 15.

Kilsyth vs Albury/Wodonga
Kilsyth are 3-1 in the past four games and looking like the team all tipsters were expecting from season start. The addition of SEABL veteran Shane Bright has provided the team with more direction and his presence on the floor has been a major factor in the team’s recent success. Brad Sheridan will have a tough job in the paint against the Cobras' in-form big man Chris Cameron.

SEABL WOMEN: ROUND 12

Bendigo vs Kilsyth
After a disappointing 0-2 weekend in Round 12, Lady Braves coach Bernie Harrower will be keen for a better result from his team this weekend. Lady Cobras are undefeated since the inclusion of Desiree Glaubitz and will be keen to keep the streak alive and build a gap on the lower-ranked teams in the league. Lady Braves lost their first home game last week and will be determined to make amends this week against Kilsyth.

Southern Districts vs Nunawading
Nunawading defeated Southern Districts 67-51 on Easter Sunday this season and will be keen to record another win this week. Spectres coach Larissa Anderson will not be travelling this week and will leave the team to assistant coach Tammie Wilson. Both teams were without quality players in their team’s first contest with Nunawading without Caitlin Cunningham and Spartans without Holly Smith. Both players are crucial members of their respective teams and will play a big role in this weekend’s game.

NW Tasmania vs Launceston
Launceston recorded state bragging rights in Round 3 earlier this season with a 92-58 victory, but the Lady Thunder team has changed for the better since this game. Since the introduction of Kristen Veal to the Lady Thunder line-up, the team has achieved a 6-3 record and skyrocketed into sixth position and threatening for a finals berth. Launceston sit one position below them but have a disappointing 1-4 road record this year. This week's game starts a run of six road games, and Coach Tim Hays will be keen to start the stretch of games with another victory against their state rivals.

Frankston vs Ballarat
Lady Blues coach Mark Ridgway will be hoping Kate McMeekan-Ruscoe is in uniform for this weekend's tussle with ladder-leaders Ballarat. McMeekan-Ruscoe is currently in Japan with the New Zealand national team and is due for return on Friday, but after a week of physical international play may be tired and unlikely to produce her best. Ballarat are on a six-game winning streak at the moment and by the far the best team in the competition at the moment.

Kilsyth vs Albury/Wodonga
SEABL 300-game veteran Allen McCowan has taken over the reins of the Lady Bandits program due to an unfortunate illness to outgoing coach Evan Bennett. After a loss in his first game last week against Knox, McCowan will be hoping to guide his new charges to a victory over
the in-form Kilsyth. Lady Bandits Jessica Bibby will be keen for a strong performance against her former club.
