NW Tasmania moved back into third position on the South men's ladder thanks largely to the efforts of import Troy de Vries. With 33 points @ 45%, five rebounds, five assists and two steals, Troy guided the Thunder to a 120- 98 home victory against state rivals Hobart. De Vries started the game at a blistering pace with 12 points in the opening quarter to help the Thunder establish a nine-point advantage.

SEABL EAST MEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK: DAVID GRUBER – Frankston Blues

Frankston Blues import David Gruber receives his third Player of the Week recognition this season after helping his team to a 119-105 victory over the youngsters from the Australian Institute of Sport. With another sensational performance NBL head coaches should start to take notice of his talents, as he continues to produce past back-to-back league MVP Shawn Redhage type numbers on a consistent basis.

Gruber produced 35 points @ 64%, 17 rebounds, three assists and a SEABL career-best eight blocks. With his team leading 84-78 with a quarter to play, Gruber lifted the intensity and produced 14 points and seven rebounds to push the game out of reach for the AIS.

Other notable performances were:
- Along with David Gruber Frankston guard Andrew Harms recorded 31pts@54%, 10 rebounds, seven assists and two steals to guide the Blues to a 14-point victory against AIS.
- Mt Gambier sharp shooter Dallas Jeffree had a consistent weekend averaging 25.5pts, 9.5rebs and 5.5apg to help the Pioneers to a 1-1 weekend record.
- Ballarat Miners playing coach Matt Shanahan had a solid game with 20pts@47%, five rebounds and seven assists to help his team to a much-needed 102-85 victory over Canberra.

SEABL WOMEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK: CRISTA HAYS – Launceston Tornadoes
Launceston Tornadoes Import Crista Hays showcased her talents this week, helping her team to their second victory this year over state rivals NW Tasmania Lady Thunder. Hays recorded a SEABL career-best 34 points @ 77%, 11 rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots to guide the Tornadoes to a 101-86 road victory and remain in finals contention.

Hays was forced to play the entire 40 minutes due to injuries and unavailabilities which forced the team down to seven original squad members. Hays battled hard in the paint against her Perth Lynx WNBL teammates Finnigan and Carr, and were able to come out victorious in the battle. She was consistent in all three quarters, scoring eight points in each of the three first quarters and then finished the game with 10 points in the final quarter to help put the game out of reach for the Lady Thunder.

Other notable performances were;
- With 18pts@89%, 12 rebounds, two assists and two blocks from Holly Smith, Southern Districts ended their disappointing losing streak with a 76-65 victory against the higher placed Nunawading.
- Desiree Glaubitz played 77mins of basketball this weekend, helping Kilsyth Lady Cobras to a 1-1
record. Glaubitz averaged 20.5pts, 6.5rebs and five assists for the two games.
- Launceston Tornado star Cassie Jordan had another sensational game of basketball, recording
23pts@57%, five rebounds, three assists and three steals.
